Established in 1991, Columbus Surgery Center is a jointly owned ambulatory surgery center owned by Columbus Regional Hospital and Genesis Physician Group, LLC.

The facility features three operating rooms, an assessment area and a recovery area. A warm, welcoming waiting area for patients, families and friends provides a pediatric play area, a private consultation area and a small snack area.

What are Ambulatory Surgery Centers?
Ambulatory Surgery Centers, or ASCs, are facilities where surgeries that do not require hospital admission are performed. ASCs provide cost-effective services and a convenient environment that is less stressful to patients.

Patients who choose to have a surgery in an ASC arrive on the day of their procedure, have their surgery in a fully equipped operating room and recover under the care of highly skilled nurses and support staff.

The center specializes in same-day surgery with no overnight stay. Columbus Surgery Center is licensed and certified by both the State of Indiana and Medicare.

Columbus Surgery Center is accredited by AAAHC, a voluntary process through which an ambulatory health care organization is able to measure the quality of its services and performance against nationally recognized standards.

Columbus Surgery Center, LLC is a joint venture between Columbus Regional Hospital and Genesis Physician Group. Members of the Genesis Physician Group consist of: Southern Indiana Orthopedics, Southern Indiana Surgery, Southern Indiana ENT and Southern Indiana Aesthetics & Plastic Surgery, and Southeastern Indiana Gastroenterology.
